SUMMARY
Made for cable, Walkout is the true story of a little-known but profoundly significant moment in the history of the Latino community in East Los Angeles. In 1968, Lincoln High School honor student Paula Crisostomo (Alexa Vega), outraged at the shabby treatment afforded Chicano students in the L.A. school system -- including habitually lowered expectations, poor facilities, a total absence of bilingual courses or textbooks, unfairly administered penalties for slight infractions, demeaning corporal punishment, and out-of-hand refusal to write letters of recommendation to choice colleges -- challenges the authority of her elders for the first time in her life by organizing a mass student walkout at five barrio high schools. Mentored by dedicated young teacher Sal Castro (Michael Pena), Paula and her fellow student activists intend to make their protest a peaceful one, but the L.A. cops typically use brute force to quell the "radicals." Even when it seems that the school board will capitulate to the Chicano students' demands, the kids are betrayed (there's an undercover police officer in their midst) and the leaders of the walkout are threatened with lengthy prison sentences on trumped-up "conspiracy" charges. It will not spoil the ending of the film to reveal that the students are ultimately successful; as directed by actor Edward James Olmos (who also plays one of the school board members), the dramatic thrust of the story is the lasting effect that the protest has on its participants -- especially the idealistic Paula Crisostomo. Executive producer Moctesuma Esparza, who'd been one of the original walkout organizers back in 1968, spent a full two decades getting this story on film; Esparza is played by Bodie Olmos, son of the director, while Esparza's daughter Tonantzin Esparza is seen as Vickie Castro. Also, Paula Crisostomo's daughter Marisol Crisostomo-Romo is seen as Mita -- and in addition, several of the former student activists are interviewed during the closing credits, or appear as extras in the crowd scenes. Produced for HBO, Walkout originally aired on March 18, 2006. Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

A beautiful woman, led to believe she has powerful ties to the sea, defies everyone to prove them wrong, in a world where man and nature connect in improbable ways, where myths are real and truth is imaginary.
"Sea of Dreams creates a fascinating world that celebrates the miracles of falling in and out of love, of death and of freedom. The story is a classic narative that celebrates the mysteries and wonders of human relationships in a magical world where people carry strong beliefs that can fulfill the heart's deepest desires", says Borjorquez.
The movie assembles an international cast that includes two important film legends: the Brazilian actress Sonja Braga with one Emmy and three Golden Globe nominations; and Mexico's sweetheart Angelica Maria who makes her return to the big screen after a twenty-year absence. Rizzo at Skywalker Sound; the cenematograpohy is the work of Christopher Chomyn; and the production design is by Gloria Carrasco.

SUMMARY
Nothing screams "PARTY!" like a vacant mansion in Beverly Hills, and when a pair of Latino teens finds just such a location, they spare no time in rocking the house in this comedy from director Ted Mendenhall. Though the teens' house-painting jobs provide just barely the money needed to get by, the job does have its perks -- and when they're hired to paint a wealthy couple's house, they find out just much fun it can be. After a few phone calls, the house is filled with some of the duo's wildest friends, and soon enough, the party careens so far out of hand that they're not quite sure they'll be able to reign it in before the owners return! ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

SUMMARY
The legend of La Llorona (pronounced "LAH yoh ROH nah"), Spanish for the Weeping Woman, has been a part of Hispanic culture in the Southwest since the days of the conquistadores. The tall, thin spirit is said to be blessed with natural beauty and long flowing black hair. Wearing a white gown, she roams the rivers and creeks, wailing into the night and searching for children to drag, screaming to a watery grave.
No one really knows when the legend of La Llorona began or, from where it originated. Though the tales vary from source to source, the one common thread is that she is the spirit is of a doomed mother who drowned her children and now spends eternity searching for them in rivers and lakes.
La Llorona, christened "Maria", was born to a peasant family in a humble village. Her startling beauty captured the attention of both the rich and the poor men of the area. She was said to have spent her days in her humble peasant surroundings, but in the evenings, she would don her best white gown and thrill the men who admired her in the local fandangos. The young men anxiously waited for her arrival and she reveled in the attention that she received. However, La Llorona had two small sons who made it difficult for her to spend her evenings out, and often, she left them alone while she cavorted with the gentlemen during the evenings. One day the two small boys were found drowned in the river. Some say they drowned through her neglect, but others say that they may have died by her own hand.
Another legend says that La Llorona was a caring woman full of life and love, who married a wealthy man who lavished her with gifts and attention. However, after she bore him two sons, he began to change, returning to a life of womanizing and alcohol, often leaving her for months at a time. He seemingly no longer cared for the beautiful Maria, even talking about leaving her to marry a woman of his own wealthy class. When he did return home, it was only to visit his children and the devastated Maria began to feel resentment toward the boys.
One evening, as Maria was strolling with her two children on a shady pathway near the river, her husband came by in a carriage with an elegant lady beside him. He stopped and spoke to his children, but ignored Maria, and then drove the carriage down the road without looking back.
After seeing this Maria went into a terrible rage, and turning against her children, she seized them and threw them into the river. As they disappeared down stream, she realized what she had done and ran down the bank to save them, but it was too late. Maria broke down into inconsolable grief, running down the streets screaming and wailing.
The beautiful La Llorona mourned them day and night. During this time, she would not eat and walked along the river in her white gown searching for her boys -- hoping they would come back to her. She cried endlessly as she roamed the riverbanks and her gown became soiled and torn. When she continued to refuse to eat, she grew thinner and appeared taller until she looked like a walking skeleton. Still a young woman, she finally died on the banks of the river.

SUMMARY
This autobiographical family comedy is based on the life of series creator Peter Murrieta. Life is seen through the eyes of 15-year-old David Tiant, as he faces the challenges of growing up in an ethnically mixed, upwardly mobile family. David's father, Joaquin is a proud yet infuriatingly pragmatic Mexican-American. His world is built on old-fashioned values of working hard to get ahead, taking care of his family and - the one that causes the most trouble - father knows best. His wife, is an Irish-American who is fiercely proud of her husband and family. David's cheerleading diva of an older sister, Maria, is having a little identity crisis of her own, rejecting her Mexican roots and telling people that the family is Spanish. Also living with the family is David's irreverent Uncle Ernesto who is gainfully employed as an animal control officer, yet tends to drift good-naturedly through life, having acquired three ex-wives and a young son named Daniel along the way. Little Daniel looks up to his cousin David and is in constant awe of his relatives new status as members of the middle class. The matriarch of the family is David's free-spirited grandmother, Magdalena, who is determined to escape an old aged home, where her only entertainment is breaking every rule, and move in with her beloved grandchildren. Knowing that his mother will cause as much trouble as his teenage children do, Joaquin has been fighting this move every step of the way. Joaquin's recent promotion has enabled the family to move to a bigger house in a nice Tucson neighborhood, and David is pleasantly surprised when his new next-door-neighbor, Sarah, turns out to be not only a very pretty girl, but a potential best friend. At the center of this chaotic family circle is the relationship between Joaquin and David, whose mixed heritage only adds to the eternal adolescent dilemma of exactly how - and if - he fits in. Though he is secretly proud of his son, Joaquin rarely shows it, and his first impulse is always to criticize rather than praise. Not really appreciating how bright David is, Joaquin is convinced that without his constant advice, his son is headed for disaster. As with most father-son relationships, the truth is that they have a lot to learn from each other.

SUMMARY
The Shield is about an experimental police division set up in the fictional Farmington district ("the Farm") of Los Angeles, using a converted church ("the Barn") as their police station, and featuring a strike team of corrupt detectives.
Detective Vic Mackey Is the leader of an elite Strike Team unit, a group of cops effective at eliminating crime but also operating under Vic's own set of rules. But his rules sometimes cross the fine line between legal and illegal. Now the precinct has a new captain who doesn't like Vic's tactics and wants to bust him off the force - even as he finds himself going to Vic for help whenever the going gets rough.
There's a reason this show is on cable. It "takes the grit and reality of a 'Homicide' or 'Sopranos' to a whole nother level" (Newsday). "The Shield" also made history by earning the most Emmy nominations ever for a basic cable drama series, with Michael Chiklis winning the coveted Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Now is your chance to experience all the action and excitement of television's most controversial show... from the beginning.
